ESC-Tension Project Kick-Off Meeting

On December 11th 2020, the European Campus Card Association (ECCA) took part in the kick-off meeting of ESC-tension (European Student Card Extension and Adoption), a new Erasmus Plus project financed under the KA2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices - Strategic Partnerships for HE and coordinated by the Italian Fondazione ENDISU. The project, officially started on November 1st and will end on October 31st, 2022, for an overall duration of 24 months.

The meeting took place online, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, via MS Teams. Seven partners from six European countries joined the meeting: The European Campus Card Association (based in Ireland),  EDUCatt – Ente per il Diritto allo Studio dell’Università Cattolica (Italy), the university of Malaga (Spain), the Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland), and the European Student Union based in Bruxelles (Belgium).

The purpose of ESC-tension is to facilitate the local and national adoption of the European Student Card, as a part of the wider vision of the European Student Card Initiative. This adoption is currently slowed down due to technological, administrative and operational gaps: the main goal of the project is to fill these gaps, through a free, open-source, multilingual and multi-country platform, providing the results and guidelines.

The kick-off meeting gave the consortium the opportunity to go through the main relevant administrative, financial and organizational aspects of the project, along with having an overview of the contents, the tasks and the next steps to initiate in order to commence the project.
